Christian Henry Tobler's
German Medieval Swordsmanship Seminar

July 19-20th
Denver, CO

The Rocky Mountain Historical Combat Guild is pleased to announce that Christian Henry Tobler , author of “Secrets of German Medieval Swordsmanship” will conduct his two-day introductory seminar on the art of German Medieval swordsmanship here in Denver on July 19-20. Mr. Tobler has over 20 years of chivalric fighting experience as well as extensive ongoing interpretation of numerous medieval German fechtbuch( fight manuals). He condenses this information and experience into a cohesive, intuitive system of martial arts.

The seminar will feature a full day of German longsword including the 5 meisterhau (or master strikes), the 4 guards and traveling after and disarm techniques. The second day will feature sword and buckler, wrestling, dagger work and, time permitting, a brief overview of armoured halfswording and armoured wrestling.

Space is limited to 30 participants. Note: Only paid participants will be allowed on site.

You must be at least 18 years old to participate in this seminar. Participants between the ages of 14 and 17 will be admitted if they are accompanied by a paid, adult legal guardian.

Cost for the seminar is $75.00 dollars (US)

Refund Policy: Your payment is non-refundable. In the event you are unable to attend, your money may be refunded if we are able to sell your seat to someone else.

Location:
The class will be taught at The Radisson Greystone Castle Hotel, Thornton, Colorado. The hotel is located at 83 E. 120th St, Thornton.

What to Bring:
Wear loose clothing suitable for mild, but sustained, physical exertion and comfortable footwear. If you have wooden wasters ( 15" [roundel dagger], 36" [short sword], 48" [long sword]) and a buckler, then please bring them (if you wish to purchase wasters we may have some available on consignment from Purpleheart Armoury). 1" inch diameter wooden dowelling cut to the correct lengths and plywood bucklers will be provided for those participants who do not have proper equipment.
You ae encouraged to bring paper and pencils to take notes.
Water will be provided but you may wish to bring sports drinks and/or snack food to keep your energy levels up. At the end of the day you *will* feel physically drained.

Lodging:
The class is being held at a hotel, and rooms will be available at a reduced rate. There are also numerous motels in the area. 'Crash space' may be available; please contact the event coordinator to make arrangements.

I cannot possibly give a higher recommendation for this seminar. We had an excellent time hosting Christian in Tulsa. His seminar is very insightful and an all around good primer on German Medieval Combatives. Those who attend will get more than their monies worth.
